The 3 series is the most popular of the BMW family. All models from the modest 318 to the M3 are shod with huge (wide) tyres, sometimes these tyres go way beyond the car's capabilities. The 318 especially is fitted with tyres that perform way beyond the power produced by the car.

The reason the BMW 3 series is fitted with these huge wide rubber band profiles tyres is styling pure and simple. Apart from the 330 / 335 and the M3 the other models do not deserve such huge tyres, however they do improve the appearance of these cars.
